About Kristina

Hello!

I’m Kristina and I write this blog.

I would like to call myself: a writer, or a cook, or a crafter.

Perhaps someday.

But for now I call myself: a mom, a wife, and a RN.

I am real. I have dishes in my sink, clean laundry on my bed, and a kid napping on my lap, right now.

And really, it’s all good.

::::

I love scrambled eggs, mocha ice cream, chèvre cheese, red wine,  green vegetables, peanut butter, chocolate, and anything with a crust.

I live in Saint Paul Minnesota, as a child I attended 10 (!!) elementary schools throughout Southern California and Minnesota. I graduated from a very small liberal arts college in Southern Minnesota in 2002 with a degree in Nursing, and promptly moved back to Southern California.

I did the responsible thing, all the while feeling the pang to write creatively, but not knowing quite how. So, I continued to write, and to cook, and to dream.  An open mic poetry night here, a dinner party there, and slowly but surely I started to find my voice outside of the realm of nursing documentation, and scholarly essays.

In 2004 I met my husband who wrote me poetry and loved ate all my cooking. I fell head over heels and promptly moved back to Minnesota.

Funny how things work out.

We married in 2007 and have three crazy, busy, wonderful children- M, A, and Z.

Live is insane, but beyond good. I am truly blessed.

::::

Just like everyone else it seems, I am  always learning  new ways to live rich while being frugal.  Along the way I’ll share my adventures creating “home” with a focus on  honest, holistic, and homemade.
