Tonight I started a six week course at St. Catherine’s University, “Enhancing Practice Through Holistic Nursing”. While I am still digesting the class I would love to share with you some quotes used in the class.
“We are coming back to an idea that we abandoned during the scientific revolution when body, mind, and spirit were all split up.” ~ Morris Berman
“It really boils down to this: that all life is interrelated. We are all caught up in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied into a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly”. ~ Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.
“What you do, what you say, who you are, will affect others in ways you never know. Your influence, like your shadow. extends where you may never be.”
“The greatest discovery of our generation is that human beings by changing the inner attitudes of their minds can change the outer aspects of their lives.” William James
“The most visible creators I know of are those artists whose medium is life itself. The ones who express the inexpressible – without brush, hammer, clay or guitar. They neither paint nor sculpt – their medium is being, whatever their presence touches has increased life. They see and don’t have to draw. They are artists of being alive… ~ J. Stone
