We planted a garden!
2 cherry tomatoes, 1 Roma , 1 brandy wine heirloom
Lots of kale, lettuce, swiss chard, carrots, green beans
6 seascape strawberry plants
1 alpine strawberry plant
2 butternut squash
Pie pumpkin
Zucchini
Cucumber
Herbs
Lots of basil!
Shallots
Potatoes
And some mystery seedlings I started, which I think are peppers?
Super excited!
Our lettuce is starting to germinate!
We started the kale and chard inside…the chard looks sad…the kale is pretty happy go lucky!
Next step building some trellises for our beans, zucchini, cucumbers, and squash!
Amelia and Maxwell are quite the little hands on helpers. Pretty much a mudfest by day and baths every night! They love it! I will try to post pics of them and their green thumbs. Amelia is learning about decomposition as she checks on our compost to see if it is still stinky, yep it is! Her and I love to check on the garden every morning to monitor the progress and to talk smack to the urban woodland critters looking for a snack.
“go away you naughty squirrels, dont eat my garden!”
Love this time of year!
